"There's no real dirt. I like to draw, I eat popcorn. I don't know! I'm pretty normal."

[Regarding still being at home] "It's really nice. I'm so lucky. I love my family and why move when you're happy?"
"I kind of figure that everything happens for reasons.. and everything works out in the end. I think a lot of people, you know, you can get stuck on something and you worry and then it's like, you know, it'll happen anyway without you worrying or not"
"I'm not a big fan of online surfing. Sometimes, I check out what fans have done for me, which is flattering, but mostly, Jennie and I use the Internet to look for [purebred] puppies. Jennie's been thinking about getting a dog and I guess I'm helping her shop."
"I respect stars who are not like, "I'm an adult now - here are my boobs"
[Regarding England] "I learned that it’s not as different as we portray it in the film. We try to magnify the difference between Americans and the English. In real life they like the same music, dress the same and it’s really much more similar than anyone thinks. But as soon as you get off the plane and get in the car and the actual driving is on the other side [of the road] and the driver is the passenger, it’s just weird. It seemed to give me a headache automatically. I was video taping as we were driving and it’s just so beautiful. It is so rich in history and everything and it’s fun to be there"
"I'm such a big fan of Frankie. I love Malcolm in the Middle."
"I think my parents are a big part of that because I'm still a normal kid. Like there are times I get frustrated because I want to wear certain shoes and they don't want me to wear them. It's all good in the end because I realize that there will be a time and place for high shoes."
"I am human and there are times with conflicts with anyone close to you. They say you take advantage of the ones you love. But, just because of my age, I want to do things they aren't ready for me to do yet."
"I wouldn't want to stay 10 forever. You have to grow older gracefully. A lot of girls, what they do is they try and show their stomach and stuff. They think that's the only way. It's always better to have a bit of mystery. A lot of girls just give it all away. It's important to respect yourself and other women. You have to be confident in yourself. A lot of girls are so insecure that they think the only way people will like them is if they look a certain way, the superficial side."
[Regarding the different crew on 'What a girl wants'] "I’m so protected in my Nickelodeon bubble and “What I Like About You”. It’s all pretty much the same people I’ve worked with before. Going to another country you’re not in your house, you’re with people you’ve never met before and I think it’s definitely a good growing experience."
"I have a tutor on the set but I go to regular school. It would be weird for me not to. I'm a social person and I'd go crazy if I couldn't be near my friends."
[Regarding reading the 'What a girl wants' script] "I didn’t know if I wanted to do a movie. Then I heard Colin Firth was interested and I was like “What? He’s interested?” I said “let me look at that again.” "
"He was amazing. Even better than I thought he would be. He’s down to earth and has such a good sense of humor and is so charming and such a lovely guy."
"In real life I’m into sweats but I do like to get dressed up like most girls at least. The one fancy dress I wanted to keep was the white dress because I thought if I ever get married one day it would be a big help. At the end I had to wear it for so long that it gave me bruises and it wasn’t as comfortable."
" I've always wanted to be a movie star like Julia Roberts. Hey, shoot high..shoot for the moon." |
